A ban on livestock export was introduced in Kazakhstan

On 30 June, a decree will come into force banning the export of large and small livestock from the country for six months. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, such measures will contribute to the development of livestock breeding, reports Press.kz.

 

On 23 June, the Ministry of Agriculture introduced quantitative restrictions on the export of live cattle from Kazakhstan in the amount of 60 thousand head, including:

 

According to the ministry, in recent years there has been a high demand for live cattle in neighbouring countries, which has led to an active export of livestock abroad. Large volumes of exports can "nullify all the state's efforts to develop livestock breeding and processing".
