According to the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2.8 million hectares of oilseeds were sown this year.

The decrease compared to last year was about 20%, or 0.7 million hectares. This is the lowest indicator for the last five years.

It should be noted that the negative dynamic is observed for the first time in 8 years. In other words, from 2016 to 2022, the area sown to oilseeds increased steadily and at a significant rate, averaging 8.3% per year.
