Kazakh wheat export to Turkey surged 75%

In January-August 2023, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey amounted to $3.9 bln. In particular, exports from the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkey during this period amounted to $2.6 bln. Among other things, wheat shipments grew by 75% to $51 mln, reported the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

From 2010 to 2021, the trade volume between Kazakhstan and Turkey varied from $1.5 to $4 bln, a significant share of which was exported from Kazakhstan. In 2022, the countries reached an all-time record in the volume of mutual trade – $6.3 bln.

 

Turkey is one of the largest trading partners of Kazakhstan – in 2022, the country took 4th place in the trade turnover of the Republic of Kazakhstan (share – 4.5%).
