“The Scandinavian countries are interested in the import of Georgian nuts”, says Baia Salukvadze, co-founder of GPR Nuts.

According to her, EU countries remain the main export markets for Georgian nut production, mainly Germany and Italy, with France also becoming more active recently.

She says Georgia is expected to harvest 40,000-45,000 tonnes of nuts this year, slightly down on last year. The decline is due to climatic conditions and bad weather this year.
