Turkiye imported 37.5 thousand metric tons of dates worth $37 million in 2019, 42 thousand 43 tonnes worth $45 million 782 thousand in 2020, 49 thousand 41 tonnes worth $52 million 778 thousand in 2021, 44 thousand 486 tonnes worth $51 million 693 thousand in 2022, and 54 thousand 458 tonnes worth $73 million 397 thousand last years.
As of 2023, 24 countries have become importers of dates to Turkiye. The main importer of dates to Turkiye was Palestine, with 15 million, 657 thousand dollars. Saudi Arabia (13 million 309 thousand dollars) and Iran (10 million 554 thousand dollars) were also among the three main importing countries of this product to Turkish markets. At the same time, over the past five years, Turkiye has exported dates worth $92 million (142 thousand dollars).
Last year, Turkiye’s exports of this product rose 20.34 percent year-on-year to $23 million (610 thousand). In 2023, Turkish dates reached the shelves of 29 countries, including the UK, the US, and Australia.
