Turkish company to launch fertilizer production in Kazakhstan
One of the largest Turkish holdings Alarko Holding is ready to invest in a number of projects in the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan. In particular, the company is considering the construction of open-ground greenhouse complexes, an enterprise for the production of organomineral fertilizers, projects for the processing and sale of food products, as well as the implementation of scientific projects, the APK Novosti agency reports.   The prospects for cooperation were discussed at a meeting between Vice Minister of Agriculture Baghlan Bekbauov and President of the holding Nuri Yildiz, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reports.   The vice minister informed the head of the company that in Kazakhstan, producers are subsidized by the cost of fertilizers, pesticides, bioagents and biological products, as well as the cost of supplying irrigation water and purchasing seeds.   In addition, reimbursement of 25% of costs is provided for the implementation of projects for the construction and expansion of greenhouse complexes, work is underway to increase the standard to 30%. It is also planned to introduce subsidizing the cost of electricity and gas during the off-season.   Baghlan Bekbauov spoke about plans to amend the existing Ken Dala program, which involves financing only open ground vegetables at the rate of about 200 thousand tenge per hectare in terms of including greenhouse vegetable producers in this program.   Alarko Holding is one of the largest enterprises in the world that invests and implements projects in the field of transport, oil and gas sector, energy, industry, tourism, and land management. Until 2030, the holding plans to invest about $100 million in agriculture.
